Reconciliation Action Plans

We can assist you to develop and project manage your Reconciliation Action Plan. If you already have a RAP, we can provide services including assessing progress, providing advice to get your RAP back on track, or assisting to develop your next level RAP.

  • Why are you doing a RAP? We yarn with you to discuss your motivations for doing a RAP. We have a set of questions to help you set your intentions.

  • We draw from Indigenous knowledges in the development of your RAP. Winangay is from our Founder Dr Lana Leslie’s mob meaning listening but not in the Western understanding. Winangay in Kamilaroi means ‘I think, I know, I respect, I love’. This methodology frames our RAP partnership.

  • Cultural education is a must while developing your RAP. We provide specialist professional education for your RAP Working Group and organisation, along with mentoring of your RAP Champion.

  • We follow a process that has proved successful in achieving final endorsement with Reconciliation Australia.

  • Reconciliation is all about effective relationships. We role model reconciliation and teach you about what effective relationships look like with Aboriginal peoples.

  • For a small fee, we can provide you with a RAP Information session that sets out the process and our approach.

Our RAP Partners:

‘Dr Leslie was an integral part of the RAP process.    On every occasion Dr Leslie impressed the RWG and the RMHC Australia team with her knowledge, enthusiasm, and her ability to bring the RWG together and build on their understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.  She shared self-directed learning opportunities so the team could continue their learning beyond each session.

Dr Leslie’s professionalism, expertise, amazing attitude, and communication skills are outstanding.  I would highly recommend Dr Lana Leslie as an Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander educator and consultant’.

“Thank you, Lana, for your steady expert hand and guidance as you supported Learning Links to develop our first Reconciliation Action Plan. We particularly appreciated your mentoring and the learning program which our Board and leadership participated in. It allowed us to safely get out of our comfort zones and be ready to lead the personal and organisational growth ahead. For our working group members, it was also a transformational process. The team loved being part of something so meaningful and to learn and grow from you. You reminded us to take a strengths-based perspective and to celebrate the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. This has made us ambitious about contributing to reconciliation and making a difference. We appreciate your walking alongside us on this important project and will continue to engage you as part of our ongoing learning journey”

“Lana Leslie came on board as a consultant to help our team develop our First Reconciliation Action Plan. During her time working alongside us Lana really became part of the team and I can see that would be a great addition to any organisation.

Her expertise in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture ensured our team was able to tackle such an important project with an understanding on the significance of the journey we were undertaking. The additional training she provided, the leadership she showed and most importantly her empathetic and open nature really ensured our team was comfortable to ask questions and make suggestions without fear or embarrassment. The RAP work group have loved working alongside Lana and we can’t wait to work alongside her in the future so that the whole of our organisation can have the same joy we had in our experience of working alongside Lana. Thank you again Lana for being the person you are, the leader we needed.”
